INTRODUCING ENVIRONMENTAL FARM PLANS TO LWIC SHAREHOLDERS

WORKSHOP 25TH MARCH PAPAKAIO COMMUNITY CENTRE 7.00PM

As part of our commitment to the Otago Regional Council to resolve potential issues with plan change 6a that relates to ground water quality, our company has agreed to implement Environmental farm plans ( EFP) for all of our shareholders farming more than 20 Ha.
This process will be managed by LWIC utilising our environmental consultants Irricon.
These EFP’s need to be in place prior to the commencement of the 2015/16 irrigation season.
The cost of preparing these plans will fall to each individual farmer and will depend on the time involved in the preparation; this will be invoiced to you by LWIC.
Having the appropriate material available when contacted by Irricon will hasten the process and reduce your costs.
To assist with this and understanding the EFP process a workshop evening will be held on 25th March at 7.00 pm at the Papakaio community centre.
Your co-operation in completing Environmental farm plans assists the company in presenting a strong science argument that intensive farming and good groundwater quality on the Waitaki plains are compatible.
